Joaquim Da Luz Teixeira:

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joaquim Da Luz Teixeira at the age of 101.  A dedicated family man and a pillar of strength, Joaquim's legacy will forever live on in our hearts.

Born to Egidio Teixeira and Gertrudes Fidalgo in Fogo, Cabo Verde, on March 20, 1921.  Joaquim is preceded by his parents and children, Joao Pedro and Joaquim Lopes.  He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories; his loving wife, Maria Teixeira; children: Egidio Teixeira (Jesuina), Maria Rosa (Aguiar), Pedro Teixeira (Maria), Olivio Teixeira (Rosalina), Augusto Teixeira (Elsa), Gertrudes Teixeira, Bartolomeu Teixeira (Maria), Joao Teixeira, Maria Houshman (John), Ludovina Teixeira, Antonia Teixeira Knibbs (Frederick), 30 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren.  Furthermore, an abundance of relatives and friends mourn his loss.
Let us come together to honor and remember a life well lived. May Joaquim's spirit guide us through this difficult time and inspire us to live with the same love and strength he showed throughout his life.  We are deeply grateful for your support; you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
